So I finally bought a larger sketchbook and watercolour! I never thought I'd spend money for my hobby lol
The sketchbook is 353x257mm! The one I've been using was 257x181mm so it's 2 times larger ^_^
I could scan this at one take so hopefully I don't have to scan twice per drawing in the future!
I haven't used watercolour for a million yrs so it is refreshing to use it again ^_^ I still suck but at least it's something different from what I've been doing for the past 2 yrs so yay!
it's very beautiful, in my opinion. especially the flow of the veil and the shading in her face. it's fun to try something new when you're inspired to do so
This is the first watercolour drawing I've done in about 20 years, I think I took a 6-month fashion illustration course when I was about 18 and back then I wanted to be a fashion designer Yes, it is fun to try new style! or rather going back to my old style
do you still design fashion in private - do you draw your ideas or was that just when you were a teenager? and what else did you learn in that fashion illustration course - what kind of utensils did you learn to use? very beautiful drawing, even though you haven't touched watercolour for 20 years
No, never done fashion design or made clothes. But it'd be great to make my own clothes! ^_^
I started fashion illustration because I wanted to be a fashion designer but I wasn't good at making actual clothes. You know, you need to do the math to figure out all the sizes and I wasn't good at math, I still suck at math LOL I liked drawing, though
I forgot the techniques I learned(I can't even remember whether there were techniques) but I think I used markers, pens, pencils, pastels and watercolour. And I drew a lot of model pix on WWD(Womens' Wear Daily magazine) ^_^
i'd love to make my own clothes too, but i can't sew or anything - and now you mention it: math - forget it. mine would probably be all asymmetric - and not in the artistic way
No, I drew pix of runway models in the magazine(WWD) while I was taking fashion illustration course. ^^ Vogue, Harper's Bazar, WWD were sort of my text books back then
